Hello. This year has been a whirlwind so far and I’ve hit the ground running. I’m really excited how everything seems to be coming together. I know this is ‘fatal last words’, but that is how if feels. The most exciting thing has been the new work I’ve been creating. Last year, it felt like I didn’t have time to create. When I did have the time, my creativity was very low and it was a struggle. 2025 has been a bit of a game changer for me.
One of the things that helped was a day course I attended with the artist Richard Heys. The course was called “Dive into Colour”, where we basically played with colour and shapes. It was very freeing and I felt this has helped my work this year. I’m trying to be looser and bolder with my work. I’m still fascinated by abstracted landscapes but I’m hoping that these have moved on to a more abstract direction. I’m really loving this creative flow and I do hope it continues.

My new work will be the main feature of the upcoming show called “Form, Frame & Fire” at the Crypt Gallery in Seaford. This will be an exciting exhibition of ceramics, jewellery, painting & photography. Featuring 4 Sussex artists working in 4 different mediums, each bringing their own unique perspective to their work. Including, Jan Beesley, a photographer who embraces both traditional and experimental techniques to create abstracted images inspired by the Sussex landscape from the Ashdown Forest to the sea. Charlie Todman, a ceramic artist who enjoys using alternative firing techniques to create striking and unique effects on her stoneware and porcelain pieces. Jayne Luscombe, a jeweller who uses enamels and gemstones to bring colour to her silver pieces. I will be exhibiting my new paintings, prints and greeting cards.

The show will run from Wednesday 21st to Sunday 25th May. There will be a ‘Meet the artist day’ with refreshments on Saturday 24th May. Opening hours are from 10am-5pm at the Crypt Gallery, Seaford BN25 1HD. If you are around Seaford way, do please pop in a say hello, it will be lovely to see you.

In April, over the Easter Break, I will be taking part in “Connections” at the Pump Barn, Seven Sisters National Park. The exhibition is open from Friday 18th to Sunday 27th April, 10am - 4pm. There will be 9 Sussex artists showing their work, including paintings, photography, prints, jewellery and ceramics. There is a private view on Thursday 24th April between 5.30pm - 8pm with refreshments. If you would like to attend the private view, do please email me so I can add you to the guest list.
I will also be opening my studio and house for the South East Open Studios in June. I love taking part in this event as it gives people a chance to see where I create my paintings. There will be more information about the SEOS near

Finally, I’m running another Fluid Art Retreat in October along with fellow artist Julie Vatcher. This year, the Retreat will be held in East Sussex. It’s a great chance for everyone in the fluid art community to come together and spend a weekend of creating and connecting.
