Art in Ditchling Open houses

When I lived in Brighton, I would always visit the Brighton artist open houses in May. It was always a great way to spend the day looking at fabulous art and being noisy around people's houses. Little did I imagine that in the future, I would be taking part in this event.

This year, I'm over the moon to be taking part in the "Art in Ditchling" open houses. This art trail is part of the Brighton Open Houses and I will be at the Sussex Contemporary's venue 12, The Barn on the Green. This is a beautiful new venue centrally placed, in the heart of Ditchling, on the village green.

There will be a carefully curated mix of established and emerging contemporary creatives from across Sussex. Printmaking, painting, jewellery, furniture, ceramics, textiles, wallpaper, botanical portraiture.

I will be showing for the first time my latest painting "Wondering Downs". It's inspired by the South Downs in Sussex which always hold a special place in my heart. It's the views I grew up with. Summer's days spent ambling along chalky paths with the backdrop of buzzing insects. Grasses waving in the breeze, the smell of freshness and the seemingly never-ending days. Perfect memories, for a peaceful place.

Along with a selection of my paintings, prints and greeting cards, there will be some beautiful work from Ashley Hutchinson, Tanvi Kant, Oriana Evans, Deb John, Vicki Disney, Charlie Todman, Sand Infield, Susie Ramsay-Smith, Louise Richardson, Joanna Myles, Pierpaolo Belfiore & Francoise Holland.

I will be there for the whole weekend so do drop by and say hello.

Venue 12: Sussex Contemporary, The Barn on the Green, Lodge Hill Lane, Ditchling BN6 8SP.

11th to the 12th May from 11am until 5pm.
